The Oakland, Illinois Family, Career, And Community Leaders of America Peer Educators are planning to hold a Fire Prevention Week at our elementary school in January 2008. We plan to get not only the students involved but the teachers as well. We will be working with the K-5 graders. During this week, we will visit each classroom and talk to them about preventing fire and what to do in case of a fire. We spend some time going to the computer lap and playing games on the State Farm’s Smoke Detective website. They will be taught some valuable information that we have put together.
