Operation: Iraqi Compassion

Hello, For some, it feels like the Iraq War has been going on forever, and for some, it feels like it just began. For me, it began the day my brother, Jason, left for Iraq. I had never been personally affected by the war yet. It was thousands of miles away and was something that was all over the news, but no one paid much attention to. Jason deployed to Kuwait in early December and flew into Baghdad on Christmas Day. Our correspondence with him has been limited, but it is always amazing to hear his voice.

Fun for our Troops

Our mission is to aid in stress relief AND Relaxation by providing high-tech and interactive games to the men and women serving abroad to protect our freedom. Many of our service men and women are gamers who rely on game play for entertainment, stress relief, and morale boost both stateside and during deployment. Studies show that thirty minutes of playing games can reduce stress levels significantly by giving the hands and mind something active in which to partake. Stress is something that plagues many adults.

Adopt A Troop

I started the Adopt A Troop club at my school this year. Adopt A Troop send care packages to troop overseas. I think that a program like this is very important because its makes being away from home a bit easier when you know that you have an entire country supporting you. Adopt A Troop send a piece of home to the troops. It's also showing our appreciation for keep us safe and allowing us to live our lives and enjoy the freedom we have. Without our troops, we wouldn't be safe and we need to honor them.

Support Our Troops Day

My volunteer community service activity was a recognition day for the soldiers fighting all over the world for the United States. This day was called “Support Our Troops Day” and it recognized all the troops fighting for us. It was created to show the troops fighting around the world, that everyone still at home really does care and appreciate everything they do.I became involved in this activity when I saw a news report about a few soldiers who were killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq.
