See It: The Community being helped
Street outreach allows Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth employees and volunteers to interact with homeless youth and provide them with basic needs items necessary for survival. These items include toiletries, backpacks, weather appropriate clothing, food vouchers and snacks, water, and information and referral cards.
The objective of street outreach is to provide education, prevention services, and supplies to runaway, homeless, throwaway, and street youth who have been subjected to or are at risk of sexual exploitation or abuse. The main goal of these efforts is to develop a rapport with youth so that we can connect them with supportive services and supplies that will assist in ending their situation of homelessness. Last year, street outreach workers provided information and referral services and/or basic needs items to 1,463 youth on the streets of Southern Nevada.
