Project Description
For this project a partner and I planned a two week summer recreation program for children ages 3 to 6th grade. We did this project because our local program was in jeopardy of losing funding because no one had done the program in a while. My partner planned one week and I planned the other week. Each day of each week there was a different theme (ie. fun in the sun, fire safety, field games). On the very last day of the program, we took the kids swimming at James St. Park in Hornell New York. The children loved this because the temperatures during the both weeks ranged in the mid to upper ninties. Due to the fact that the temperatures were so high, we had a certified emt on hand to help in the case of an emergency.

The program is currently still going for the two weeks in the summer and more and more children are attending each year!!!
