I need your help. I am starting a projct called the Congo. Whether or not you think you are affected, you are however indirectly it may be. People everyday, every hour are being subjected to rape; women, men as well as children as young as 8 months old. This has got to stop!! We cannot keep going about our lives while poeple are dying. If we spent as much time covering this problem and ongoing epidemic as we did Britney Spears and her life, think how much better we would be and the people living in the Congo also. The issue here is not that people are getting raped but it is how.

change for a Change is great because anyone from any socio-economic background can help. Basically If you have a penny you can help.
A Change for a Change is asking for change, both in the terms of ghettos, homelessness, drug abuse, but also in the form of loose change- pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters, even loonies. Because nearly everyone in America from the poorest to the richest has at least a penny (or two,) to spare, and because of that, they can help. A little in large amounts goes a long way. Often, I see people grumble and complain about pennies, "What use does a penny do?

A group of concerned students at the Community College of Baltimore County have formed a team determined to bring relief to the people of Darfur and the Sudan. Together we are planning the "Walk For Darfur" which we hope to raise money and awareness not only on our campus but the entire Baltimore-Metro region. We are hoping to pull off the walk on April 12th, 2008, the location and other details are still to come. It is our goal to donate as much money as we can UNICEF, in hopes of bringing food, health care, education and a future for the children effected by the genocide in Darfur.

Thanks to many bakers and dessert contributions, the Brooks School DO SOMETHING Club held a bake sale during all lunch periods for two days, and has raised a total of $590.13. All monies go to the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief fund to help those people who have lost homes in the California wildfires and other natural disasters around the country.

SAFER takes the direct approach to rebuilding the city of New Orleans, offering free labor to people who would otherwise be unable to afford the cost of repairing their homes. We communicate directly with our families about their needs and their hopes for their rebuilt homes, and with community leaders and organizations about their plans for revitalizing their neighborhood. We realize that rebuilding can be a huge challenge, especially for homeowners who have few funds or also have the responsibility of a job and caring for a family.
