I have lived in the lakewood area for nearly 6 years now. All I have come accross are drug users or prostitution workers. That is not the life or environment I want to be in. When walking to work through my neighood, I have to deal with cars asking me to get in, walking past police cars, and strangers approaching me asking me if I am "working". What kind of environment is this for a teen or anyone else to live in? Why should we have to be subjected to the negative aspects of life because of the are we live in. It's time for a change. I want to tranform my community.

Youth for Change International (YFCI) is a youth-led organization that gets and inspires youth to make a difference. "The Youth Campaign for a Better World", has many off-and-online projects that deals with issues youth want to do something about. We have a magazine that is written to youth, by youth. YFCI created Be the Change Awards which is an awards program that allows youth to submit artwork, videos, poems and more to inspire others. We also have a interactive forum, and tons of ways for you to start bringing the change.
