NY: The new “Windy City”

As part of his plan to make New York the most energy efficient city in the nation, Mayor Bloomberg has proposed a “green” plan that could drastically change New York City’s infamous skyline and shores.
The mayor's "windmill power plan" is the boldest environmental proposal yet from the billionaire independent, who has been trying to make energy efficiency a legacy of his administration.

Clifford Sporting Complex

I am 15 and starting to plan a sporting complex with my Mom and Dad and I have talked to my Mayor amung others. I live in a high violence urban area and we don't have many options for recreation and because of this many teens revert to gangs and violence on the streets. We need this indoor sports complex to give us some place to have fun with our family and friends whether atheletes or not. It also provides fun job opportunities rather than bagging groceries or something to that nature which may not be a fit for everyone.

TJHSST Solar Panel Initiative

The environment is a major problem in the world today, and as a new generation of workers in the fields of science and technology, the students of the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology want to show that they are ready to take action. A group of students in this Northern Virginia school have formed the Solar Panel Initiative, which is called TJSPI for short. Their main goal is to raise the $20,000 necessary to install solar panels at their school. Their hope is to add onto the initial array until the building works entirely on solar energy.
