South County Free Health Physicals

The South County Health Department in Alexandria, VA partners with Inova Health Systems, Fairfax County Government, Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants(VAPA) and Fort Belvoir to host free health physicals for 150 underprivileged and homeless children, aging from 3-12 yo. Backpacks are donated, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and VAPA provide free books and bicyle helmets for the children. They are screened for hearing and vision, medical abnormalities, given immunizations and provided information regarding affordable health insurance.

Operation: 5,000 Backpacks

On July 26, 2008, Project HOTSHOTS will conduct Operation: 5,000 Backpacks. All BPs will be filled with school supplies and sent to 22 different locations in the U.S. and abroad. Each BP is paid for by sponsorship of Little Leaguers, karate students, dance students, youth soccer players and students. Project HOTSHOTS, Inc is an all volunteer, non-profit charity (501 c 3) committed to bringing Music, Art, School and Sports to needy kids All Over The World. You too, can sponsor a BP... $10 per BP or $250 for an entire class.. or somewhere in between.
