Sea Island Habitat for Humanity is currently planning on transforming their storm water retention pond into a functioning wetland habitat. One of the goals of the project is to provide a teaching tool for the community in which youth and adults can experience the beauty and function of wetlands from a safe and easy location. The project will be using native wetland plants to provide food and habitat sources for local animals as well as migratory birds. To reduce the human impact and increase access, an observation deck will be built and concealed with a bird blind.
