One of the most influential ways to make a lasting impression is through visual aid. This is why my friends and I would like to make a documentary to promote awareness within our community. Awareness of what?
Awareness of our addiction to foreign oil and the pollution it creates. The resources we are abusing. The plastic bottles we consume that are now located in a trash can, or even worse, on the side of the road.
We will capture, on film, the problems caused by not recycling. The problems caused by using fossil fuels as a main energy source.

Strengthen Local Power in Limon, Costa Rica
The province of Limon, Costa Rica offers ideal weather conditions for banana and pineapple cultivation. Large multinational corporations like Dole, Banacol, and Del Monte are attracted to the area to harvest these fruits for export. The powerful companies buy land vast amounts of land to begin their businesses, cutting down valuable rainforest to create fields. Countless social and environmental problems arise from the addition of multinational corporations into poor rural communities.

JEA has the highest rates of mercury emissions in all of Florida, according to Florida PIRG. Mercury is a dangerous neurotoxin, especially for pregant women and children. It's one of the reasons why you can't eat the fish you catch locally. JEA is city-owned, so everyone in Jacksonville is a shareholder. Tell the mayor and city council that you support the Mercury Falling initiative - that JEA lower its mercury emissions by the same amount it raises rates. Find out more and write the mayor and city council at http://mercuryfallingjax.blogspot.com/

The Pledge to Try Veg! Rally started in May 2006 as a bet between friends to see if those who ate meat could last even two days without consuming meat. We have decided to make this an annual event, and to focus more on other aspects to educate others. Vegetarianism is about more than just eating meat, it's a lifestyle choice concerning many hot issues, pollution (factory farms pollute water, air and land); conservation (forests are sometimes cut down to build farms, the land becomes exhausted from constant use.

Hello I am Radhika. I have recently posted about keeping the AIR POLLUTION rate low through keeping tires properly inflated. As we can see, it is a very simple idea. I came up with this idea while doing my Change project. I am a freshman and in my school, we have to do a benchmark project regarding environment preservation. I have always had a goal of publicizing the idea of lowering air pollution rate. I want to make this more than just a project and BUILD MORE AWARENESS TOWARD THIS IDEA. I have been assigned a team. There is two more students working with me on this.
