See It: The Community being helped

[This was the description sent to my school, and got approved]
Rock for a Cause

With great focus on “Continuing the Tradition of Excellence.” I propose that Coeur d’Alene High School starts a concert, which is paid for by donations by students. There are already bands from this school that has expressed interest in performing for free, in order to further the cause of earning money for the following charities:

o The Red Cross
o UN.Gift
o Save Darfur
o UNICEF
o United Way of America

The whole project would not require too much money, time, or effort, and anything needed besides what is listed below would be given by myself, in order to make this project go through successfully.

We would need:

+ Use of theater
+ Audio Equipment (?)
+ Support from the staff.

Everything else would be done by myself, I will organize it all. This is a great way for students to raise money for some good causes, and educate ourselves to people around us. The charities were selected because of their universalness. The Red Cross protects people all over the world and has even helped Coeur d’Alene; UN.Gift is to stop human trafficking around the world; Save Darfur is an organization to provide awareness to the Genocide in Darfur, and convince politians to do something about the cause; UNICEF helps children all around the world with many causes; and the United Way foundation is on identifying and resolving pressing community issues, as well as making measurable changes in the communities through partnerships with schools, government agencies, businesses, organized labor, financial institutions, community development corporations, voluntary and neighborhood associations, the faith community, and others.

We can do something, our students want to help. This is a great way to give to not only our community but to the world. If this becomes popular, we can start doing it annually and I promise to come back and help if need be. The concert will be a fun, family friendly event, where local groups come together to work for a cause.
