K&S Foundation

This foundation will help sustain poverty-stricken Korean-American families in Bergen County, NJ.

"Just Like You"

I am beginning a project. The project name is not set as of now, and probably won't be until it is finally complete. I have lived and visited many areas with an outrageous homeless population that is hated, ignored, and looked down on. I would like to start this project by getting a nice recorder (continuous recording, battery life, and direct computer upload) and recording life stories from homeless men, women, and children around the United States. I would like to be able to offer them some money but I really do not have the resources myself.

Homeless Restoration Center

The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it. (Proverbs 29:7) Summary of proposed plan: The Soldiers of the Cross Ministries was formed to help individuals fulfill the will of God for their lives in making a positive impact in their communities. By the grace of God we will help individuals start a new life in Christ and help them build on top of this foundation a good education, job training, credit restoration, positive outlook on life and other principles.

Music For Life

I let poorer kids in my community use insturments and give them lessons.

Everyone Has a Story to Tell

After a rash of homeless beatings by teenagers, it was time for the Beta Club students to learn first hand about the homeless people in their community and spend time with homeless adults at a downtown shelter. This book, written by the students,

Camp Rainbow

I spent the last four summers organizing, directing and running Camp Rainbow for underprivileged youth. It is non-profit and entirely staffed by volunteers. Last year, I took a directing role, as well as counselor to a unit. Although it was my job to teach and mentor the campers, much of the time I felt that they were the ones teaching me. Most of them came from poor families and had seen more than their share of trouble in their lives. I taught them crafts and outdoor skills, and in turn they taught me courage, patience and wisdom. I was consistently challenged and consistently rewarded.

Toys 4 Peace

Afghanistan is one of the poorest countries in the world; while the media covers it, it still remains forgotten. Quite recently, Africa has obtained a lot of aid and media coverage for AIDS virus, Darfur, poverty, ect. Yet Afghanistan remains in a shadow, only shown on today's media for terrorism. The children of Afghanistan suffer from not only a poor country, but one stuck in the center of a deadly war. They've grown up to the sound of gunshots and bombs, and to the feeling of fear. Many themselves have been caught in a bombing or shooting, and now suffer life damage.

Empowering Youth to Achieve Success

Financial prosperity remains an allusive dream for many young Americans. I am working on a pilot program that will help teenagers from lower income families learn business and financial skills. The project will involve placing youth in leadership positions of small corporations established just for this purpose. Successful business leaders will help guide students through the entire business cycle. Participants will learn hands-on how businesses operate and experience an unparalleled level of responsibility.
