Comfort For Canines is a individually founded program in which I collect blankets, towels, comforters, and dogs beds in new or good condition. Also, paper towels and hand sanitizer are collected and donated to the Broward Humane Society, including its many branch offices. I travel there three times a month, depending on the size of the present donation load. So far, we have collected over thousands of dollars in paper and bedding for Broward County alone.

Recently having watched my beloved dog, Daisy, get hit by an oncoming truck after she managed to coerce herself out of her collar, I have been made aware of the pain and suffering that not only accompanies the owner of a dog that needs emergency medical help, but the veterinary bill, for said canine, as well. Being a relatively accident-free person, myself, I have really not encountered the ongoing and debated problem of health care costs in America; thus, it was news to me that it had engulfed veterinary medical assistance, as well.

Hi, I am a sophomore and I am working on my Girl Scout Gold Award Project. I am running a week long camp at my local YMCA to educate elementary students about animals and animal welfare. We will be doing a lot of community service activities in this. I will inspire the kids to take action, while allowing them to have fun with these animals. We will be running many fundraising activities which will be donated to our local animal shelter.

Pulling perfectly good dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and ages that are slated for euthenasia from overcrowded animal shelters and providing them with basic health needs like spay/neuter, vaccinations, health checks, flea treatment, heartworm tests, and preventative and finding them loving, forever homes with Rescue Farm: a no-kill, non-profit animal rescue out of Poland, Indiana. We post the pets online and people inquire about them via Lauren, a dedicated, long-time volunteer with the rescue.

Spay Neuter Action Project

For around three years I volunteered for a nonprofit organization called SNAP - Spay Neuter Action Project. We provide low cost spay and neuter for low income individuals who own dogs, cats, and/or rabbits in San Diego County. Our website is http://www.snap-sandiego.org.

Our goal is to end pet over-population and help keep the shelter's number low, rather than over flowing as they currently exist. We began in 2003 by a wonderful woman named Candy Schumann, our Volunteer Executive Director and founder.

Project Donate is to help sick animals and healthy animals in the process of about to go to adoptions to find a good home.

Companion Animal Rescue League (C.A.R.L.) is a non-profit animal rescue group made up entirely of volunteers. The rescue group has at least 20 members.
• We do not operate a shelter
• Rely on volunteer foster homes to house and care for the pets in our program.
• All of our pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and tested for heartworms (dogs) or FIV/FeLV (cats) prior to adoption.
• Most pets are also microchipped.
