What got you interested in charity?
I was always taught: “To whom much is given, much is required.” I’ve been blessed tremendously throughout my life — so I have to be a blessing to others. It’s my duty, and I enjoy it.

It's Back to School shopping season. Stores and organizations know that, in today's economy, families could use a little extra during this busy time.
DoSomething.org and Macy's have joined forces with Kelly Osbourne and America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon for a campaign that rewards back to school shoppers with gift cards, scholarships and a way to give back to your community.
This past Thursday, VH1 aired the second annual Do Something Awards, which represents a partnership between the music channel and DoSomething.org to honor young people’s commitment to social change. The awards ceremony was hosted by Jane Lynch and featured performances from Demi Lovato, OneRepublic with B.o.B, and Foster The People along with an all-star lineup of presenters, which included Kristen Bell, Nick Cannon, Jon Cryer, Victoria Justice, Adam Lambert, Mario Lopez and more.

Do Something Awards to air Thursday, feature Oklahoma celebrities

Several Oklahoma celebrities will perform, present and compete for awards when the 2011 Do Something Awards air at 8 p.m. Thursday on VH1.

So it’s only natural that Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne are teaming up to promote a back-to-school campaign with Macy’s, combining fashion, shopping rewards and charity, all to benefit DoSomething.org.

“Glee” star Jane Lynch returns to host the Do Something Awards for the second year at 9 p.m. Thursday on VH1. The event honors celebrities who better the world through their activism. But one category salutes everyday people who are younger than 25; that winner will receive $100,000.
