Founded by 13 year old Josh Hagar, Playing for Glimmer provides young sports enthusiasts an opportunity to combine their love of the game with the desire to raise awareness and money to supply water wells to children and families in Ethiopia. Based on pledges per games played in summer tournaments, tennis players from the Austin Tennis Academy are committed to raising $30,000 in 2007. Working with A Glimmer of Hope Foundation, all monies go toward building water wells in rural Ethiopia, providing clean water to thousands.
