See It: The Community being helped
Theme: " Be the Change you want to happen in the world" ~Gandhi~
Goal: To renew societies passion in education and bring about the opportunity to excel throughout the world.
Process and opportunity: This would require national dedictation with a combination effort from community oriented clubs and church organization. From the month of April to May it will be National read to kids month and each organizaiton will be responsible to encourage kids to read. If we read an average of 167 books throughout the month to kids that means 300 billion books will be read. It is often the simple things that inspire great works. Let us not miss out on an opportunity to change a life.
Idea: Make a national read to kids month and each organizaton sets out on field trips to read to kids as well as distribute books to the community and collect books for kids around the world.
Orgins: Why is this project called Goose bumps? When we are in the service of others we forget about our own problems. The purpose of life is to overcome ourselves and lose ourselves in the service of others. It is about feeling the goosbums, the chills when you have done something right. It is about embracing our heritage and truly making a difference in society. Society will only be able to maintain its morality if we work together to preserve that selfless idealisim ingrained in children.
Personal testimonial:
“You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes” You are on your own and you know what you know, and you are the guy who will decide where to go” Our voices encompassed the room as the children listened intently to Dr. Seuss. Their enthrallment was mirrored by my own emotions. Their innocence and idealistic passion inspired me to pursue something beyond myself. At that moment I felt as if my passion were put to use. I want to be a guide in preserving the innocence of childhood goals. I want to be a teacher in the Peace Corp.
It is through the simple acts of kindness that one augments society. It is the innocent and gratified smile that makes all the sacrifice worth making. I feel complete through service through church or National Honor Society. I now realize that humanity is not made up of isolated entities, but is an interdependent community. By contributing my time to helping calamities around the world and in the local area, I have become whole.
I hope to one day make an enduring contribution to society. I desire to be the change I want to happen in the world. The children are the future and I wish to renew society’s passion in education. My loyalties lie in helping others; my destiny is to help the less fortunate. I want to have the power to affect change
