Project Description

The Sullivan Middle School Garden aims to increase healthy habits amongst the students at Sullivan Middle and the surrounding community and to promote positive and safe associations with outdoor space to increase its use for physical activity. These goals will be reached through using the garden as a gathering space to engage in a dialouge about the important health issues affecting the community, and through the implementation of hands-on nutritional education activities involving the garden. The Sullivan Middle Youth Health Council (YHC), a student group associated with the Sullivan Middle School Health Center, will be the lead group in the design, creation, and outreach of the garden.
