Our community service oriented group of college students will be traveling to Atlanta, GA, in order to participate in a service trip. We are a group of approximately thirty-five students who all attend Union College in Barbourville, KY. We are all part of the Common Partner/Bonner program, which is a scholarship program that works with non-profit organizations throughout the community.
The trip will take place January 18, 2008, through January 21, 2008, which is over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.

This money would be used to purchase the game Guitar Hero and its accessories. This is for the Grayslake Youth Center NFP, Inc, a new teen center serving kids ages 12 to 18. We are a stand alone non-profit, designed by a group of high school seniors and we have brought it to reality. We envision having Guitar Hero competitions on Wednesday nights with prizes for the winners. A semi-final event would be held monthly and finals every quarter with the prize increasing as students progressed.

Project HERO was developed to strengthen ties within the community and give students the opportunity to see the difference they can make in other people’s lives while having fun. While Kansas Wesleyan faculty and staff have supported the project, the effort was initiated by students and continues to be student led.
Project HERO day consists of a huge meeting lobby where all the site leaders make contact with their volunteers and hand out everyone their project HERO t-shirts.

Hi I am writing on behalf of the Great Northwest Library in San Antonio, Texas. We have been trying to start a Youth gaming group which would bring more youth into the library. We were wondering if you could help contribute or know of someone who could help contribute to our group. In this group we hope to teach the youth of friendly competition as well as respecting and learning from others.

Peers Mentoring Peers (PMP) is a program designed to assist new freshmen students while making the transition from middle school to high school with the assistance of an upperclassman help. The PMP program provides each freshman student with: Freshman Orientation (Fish Camp) that consists of summer activities usually held in the month of August. Ice Cream Social for incoming freshmen students and parents. This is an opportunity for both students and parents to meet and get acquainted with peer mentors and the coordinator(s) of the PMP program.

Mission Statement: To provide team shoes for middle and high school teens who are homeless or are in foster care in the North Little Rock School District. Premise: Homeless children and foster children are often unable to participate in the many activities offered by the public schools because the shoes required for the programs are cost prohibitive for their family. Participating in these programs would teach these children coping skills, teamwork, discipline, and give them a sense of belonging to their new school and community.
