I had never really watched or heard of the DoSomething awards before but it was really amazing. Seeing hundreds of celebs was pretty sweet, but the reason everyone was gathered there was even sweeter. The VH1 DoSomething awards honor young people, celebrities, and other organizations that have done something outstanding for their communities. The show was hosted by Glee’s Jane Lynch and included various performances from different artists; such Lifehouse and Natasha Bedingfield.

We caught up with the celebs on the red carpet...

On July 19, "Glee's" Jane Lynch hosted The 2010 Do Something Awards on VH1, honoring celebrities who are giving back as well as activists under the age of 25 who are making a difference in their own communities and around the world. The star-studded evening featured performances by Natasha Bedingfield and Lifehouse, as well as appearances by celebrity presenters like Megan Fox, Matt Bomer, Paula Abdul, and Demi Lovato.

So in case you missed it Monday night, the Do Something! awards were on VH1. After myself and Christina went to the Do Something! bootcamp this weekend, all of us at the ROOZT office were excited to see the winners of the awards show. On July 19, the Hollywood Palladium was filled with more stars in one place than a usual Monday evening should for the 2010 Do Something Awards hosted by VH1 on the blue – not red, but blue – carpet. Before the event kicked off, Melanie Stevenson from DoSomething.org streamed live and greeted celebrities, creating a Twitter craze. Tweets tagged as #DSawards were displayed across the stage on the electronic banner and questions for host Jane Lynch to answer were welcomed.
