The event honors celebrities who better the world through their activism. But one category salutes everyday people who are younger than 25; that winner will receive $100,000.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Adam Lambert will present for the “Do Something Awards” on VH-1 next Thursday. But telecast producers tell news that Adam Lambert is also nominated for the Do Something Awards, and it’s all the result of overwhelming fan support.

Jane Lynch, Adam Lambert and Lady Gaga….okay. I, for one, can actually remember when VH1 stood for Video Hits One and ran music 24/7. Heck, I remember when MTV had music on it. Still, at least they do occasionally honor, you know, real musicians. Adam Lambert has been nominated for VH1’s Do Something Awards for 2011. Demi Lovato, Joe and Nick Jonas have been all been nominated to an award in the VH1 Do Something awards. DoSomething.org and VH1 have once again partnered to present the Do Something Awards to honor young people’s commitment to change.

Oklahoma country music stars Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton have received a Do Something Award nomination for their pair of home state charity concerts that raised $500,000 for tornado relief efforts in Tushka. In addition, the hit NBC reality TV show “The Voice,” which features Shelton as one of its four superstar coaches and included McEntire among its first-season celebrity advisers, has been nominated for a Do Something Award.
