See It: The Community being helped

The Blessings in a Backpack ambitious program goals include:

1) Helping meet the nutritional needs of children in need by providing weekend meals

2) Generating public awareness on the issue of child hunger

3) Working to expand the program across the nation to all fifty states

My program assists in getting children six meals to bring home on Friday to subsidize whatever their parents can feed them over the weekend. Recognizing that many children eat very little over the weekend, yet are able to receive a breakfast and lunch free of charge in school, we give them the opportunity to bring free food home to eat on the weekend.
