World Water Day 2010

On Monday, March 22, people, organizations, and governments around the world will focus on the planet's water concerns as part of World Water Day. World awareness of water issues has come a long way since 1992, when the United Nations designated the 22nd day of March as the annual World Water Day, but it's going to take a lot more than annual observances and conferences to solve the global water crisis.

Do you know what day it is today? It’s International Women’s Day! Each year on March 8, events around the world are held to promote a better future for women and to celebrate their achievements. This year’s IWD theme is “Equal rights, equal opportunities: Progress for all” and will see A-list ladies joining First Lady Michelle Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in celebrating women in various festivities throughout this week.
