Foster Families: These special families care for our pets until their forever home is found. All vet care is paid by the Coalition. Families are responsible for all the love and affection they can possibly lavish on their foster pet. Sometimes we can supply foster families with donated food, but in the event that we do not have any, the families are responsible for the cost of food. Families must also bring their pet to any required vet visits and as many outreach events as possible. We are in desperate need of foster families.

In the United Sates alone, an estimated 2.7 million animals in shelters are euthanized each year. Many of these animals are killed due to minor problems that include age, weight, and treatable ailments. For my Senior Project, I was a foster parent to these animals, where I not only helped save their lives, but also made them eligible for adoption.
To start my project, I met with the Foster Coordinator, Katie Black, and had an interview with her and my mother to become a foster parent. I started bringing home animals in need the same day.

I have been volunteering at a pet rescue agency for about one year now. I am trying to educate pet owners in pet care and the importance of spay and neutering. I am currently working with an organization that adopts orphaned pets out to appropriate families. The pets are spayed or neutered before they go to their new owners. All shots and worming are included in the adoptions. The animals are taking care of and loved until an adoption takes place. I would like to start an educational program for pets owners in the local animal shelters.

I am a 14 year old girl with a huge love of animals. In the past three years, I have convinced my parents to help me rescue animals. We currently have 8 pets we have rescued! (4 cats, 2 rats, a bunny, and a guinea pig). We are now trying to open an animal rescue for all those little critters who need our help!
