This is my plan for our college community to help prevent the increasing rates of obesity in minorities, junk food living with college students and the perception that females have on their body image and how healthy eating can help prevent such physical and mental distasters.
As a senior student attending Norfolk State University in the year 2008 i would like to implement a plan to help decrease the number of female minorities that are suffering from obesity and depression.

We are a student non-profit working on safe water projects in Uganda, East Africa. With additional support we hope to expand to neighboring countries. This all started when 14 students from the University of Wisconsin-Madison studied health and nutrition in Uganda for 3 weeks in January 2005. We came back to the U.S. and applied for a small grant so that the students going on the next year's study abroad trip could help build rainwater collection tanks as a source of clean drinking water for families in rural Uganda. We received the grant and Village Health Project (VHP) was started!

Irvington High School Do Something Club School is Cool Project: The main goal of this project is to target young people who are losing interest in their academics when they enter High School to give them the motivation and the insights on their futures. We have in mind to target freshmen. Studies have shown that within 3 weeks into the first year of high school has a big impact on the students. Either most students feel unmotivated due to the difference between their past academic lives or some feel motivated to keep going.
