CFLs

Project Greenlight

Project Greenlight is rooted in a small community in Northeast Pennsylvania. Many people live in poor rural areas and working class urban neighborhoods in the formerly prosperous Lackawanna and Wyoming Valleys. I hope to educate people about energy conservation and help them to make a positive change. By distributing and installing CFLs I hope to not only touch individual lives, but to do my part in the fight against climate change.

RelightNY

RelightNY is focused on tackling global warming and maintaining the health and well-being of the environment around us. Global warming and the deteriorating health of our environment are issues that effect the entire population of our planet, not just a certain group of people. The consequences of the rising amount of greenhouse gases that blanket the Earth and, thus, its rising temperature will have to be faced by everybody.

RelightNY

RelightNY is a charitable organization that is dedicated to the fight against global warming. RelightNY's mission is to educate and inspire people to take action and live in ways that protect the earth's environment for current and future generations. RelightNY raises money to purchase CFL bulbs at a discount price for low-income housing tenants. What is special about our organization is that it takes a huge, “global” issue and allows people old or young, wealthy or poor to have a stake in resolving the problem.

One Light At a Time:Solutions to Global Warming

The Environmental Activists of Casady High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma know that all it takes to make a difference is for each person to "turn on their lightbulb." An energy efficient compact fluroescent lightbulb, that is. The group of dedicated and ambitious student activists came up with a plan to give away one energy efficient light bulb to every student and faculty member in their high school, in order to raise awareness about global climate change and the easy steps anyone can take to make a difference.
