Out city is Jonesboro, Ar. Our population ia about 60,000. The community we have reached out to is 60% Africian American and 20% Hispantic and 20% white American. The area our building is located in is low income and poverty stricken with a large number of single parent homes.

1. Local Needs:
Suzhou, a thousand-year-old Chinese city of tranquility and beauty, is experiencing some of the world's most rapid economic and social transformations. While modern skyscrapers increasingly dominate the skyline, new problems arise at the same pace.
Firstly, there is a widening socioeconomic gap between the wealthy and the poor. Albeit a symptom widely seen across China, the disparity reaches its worst in the fast-developing, coastal city of Suzhou.

At the beginning of my freshmen year, I decided that my high school needed to jump onboard the movement to institute recycling programs at schools. Through a lot of hard work and determination to get the program going, it was finally adopted in March 2007. The biggest challenges of starting recycling were monetary matters, disfavor, and communication. There were some people who didn't believe recycling would make a big impact on the environment. The Environmental Activists of Casady High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma know that all it takes to make a difference is for each person to "turn on their lightbulb." An energy efficient compact fluroescent lightbulb, that is. The group of dedicated and ambitious student activists came up with a plan to give away one energy efficient light bulb to every student and faculty member in their high school, in order to raise awareness about global climate change and the easy steps anyone can take to make a difference.
