The gift of a planet with so many tresures is fading with many resourses being wasted. For that reason, ever since I was little I started recycling to help the environment and the future generations to come. I realized that I needed to do something because one person can make a difference by spreading the cause of recycling. I went to my principal's office and now, we are going to start recycling in our school. All we need is to get blue bags and big blue recycle bins. The only problem is that most of the classes don't have the class-size recycle bins. I found out those have the be bought from companies and we don't have the money. Thus, I will apply for grants and see how much can be rewarded to my school's program. Hopefully I can get this program to the whole school district and the whole city in a matter of time. Please start this at your school, it's very important and necessary. Thank you!

My project is an on-going one that uses the far-reaching power of the Internet to connect with people and get them motivated, much like dosomething.org does. I concentrate on all types of environmental and energy issues, including providing information, photographs, and also opening up topics for discussion, all while keeping a positive outlook.

EcoAware is primarily focused on MySpace (it is much easier... and cheaper... to reach people this way). However, I have created a website for EcoAware which can be found at http://www.ecoaware.org

Please, before you read anything else on this page, read this:

You will notice that the words "global warming" are NOT the central theme of EcoAware. While it is a problem, there are other environmental issues that aren't getting due recognition because of global warming.

Furthermore, environmentalism should not be viewed as a political position/stance. Everyone lives on planet Earth, whether they are Republican, Democrat, any other political party, or any race, gender, or religion.

While it is my personal stance and therefore the stance of this organization that global warming is real and is at least boosted by humans, global warming is not a cause for a sudden caring about the environment. Below are some other issues, but please know that the purpose of this organization is to show people that it is not too late, we can make a difference, and together, WE WILL!

The planet we live on is just that-- what we live on. You only hear about global warming now, like it's the only environmental issue. Even if you don't believe global warming is real:

-What about deforestation?

-What about the harmful effects of super-industrial agriculture?

-Does what I eat affect the environment?

-What happened to knowing the person that grows your food?

-What about landfills?

-Why are we still using oil?

Irvington High school is hosting an E-waste drive, which will be dedicated to proper diosposal of electronic waste on Saturday, May 19. We need as much help we can to make this event a success.
