One in five don't know they have HIV

Two years after the Centers for Disease Control recommended routine HIV testing for everyone ages 13 to 64, 20% of people infected with the AIDS virus doesn't know it.

 

Teen sex survey shocks

An appalling 14% of teen girls claim to have had sex while at school and one in five hopes to be a teenage mom, or so says an unscientific survey on teen sexuality produced by "The Tyra Banks Show."

The survey culled results for over a two-week period last summer, and either offers a rather revealing window into the behavior of teens, or at least those that are fans of the Tyra show.

 

Marrow transplant may have cured AIDS

An American who suffered from AIDS appears to have been cured of the disease 20 months after receiving a targeted bone marrow transplant normally used to fight leukemia, his doctors say.

Missouri high school copes with HIV scare

An HIV infected person has caused a rush to get tested for the virus that causes AIDS after telling health officials that as many as 50 teenagers might have been exposed.

The Normandy High School district learned October 9 of the potential exposure and within a business day worked out with the Health Department how to release the information and handle HIV testing.
