International Justice Mission is an organization that legally rescues a person from abusive labor and forced prostitution. IJM uses connections with the local government to legally get people away from these terrible circumstances. It costs $500 to free someone from abusive labor and $1000 to save someone from forced prostitution. To see first hand accounts and great stories/videos, visit www.ijm.org .
In order to support this cause, one of my friends and I have been leading a pop can drive.

In this fast paced world, we are struggling to recruit new generation volunteers within our community to respond to emergencies. I reached out to the community for donations to begin our first website for the Fire Rescue Company. We have just began with $500, which has allowed us to launch our first website. We have developed a website which will assist our Volunteer organization in recruiting new volunteer members. This site will also allow our company to reflect a positive image on the community and provide a means for the public to Internet generation to communicate with us.

A rescue organizations dedicated to finding loving homes for cats and dogs. Our animals live in our homes (we do not have a shelter) and are made to be companion animals. Cats and dogs come to us through owner-surrender, animal abandonment, or finding them randomly (the picture attached is a rescue from Delphi, Greece). We educate the public about spay/neutering animals and the basic care for animals. As individual fosters, we provide a home environment so that the animal will be accustomed to a loving home.

When I was returning home on leave from the military, I picked up three retired racing Greyhounds at a track near my former base and drove halfway across the country with them to their new homes. While the three slept comfortably on the back seat, I wondered if I could make more of this happen on a larger scale.
TruckerBuddies was born at a truck stop in Tennessee. What if there were a way to link overburdened shelters with others who had room-- what if there were a way to link volunteers to the two?
