(I submitted this project to the Brick Awards last year.)I have been raising funds to help kids in developing country get an education since 2002. I've raised over $85,000. As part of that program, last summer I started a program called, "FUN With A FUTURE". I wanted to give the children I met in Africa and Lima, a chance for FUN. I got kids in the community to donate 1,000 Frisbees. To help the kids in Africa with their FUTURE, I collected 10,000 pencils and 5,000 toothbrushes. Then I got DHL Shipping to send everything overseas for free.

Hello, my name is Alex. I started making pens more than two years ago when I was 12. It all began with a pen making class held at a local woodcraft store near my hometown. I remember coming home that evening wanting to make a few more. Well that wish has certainly been fulfilled! Within a short time after taking the class, my dad brought home a small lathe for my younger brother and me to turn out a few more pens.
