Helping Children around the world

"I believe that if you have a dream, you need to go forward and follow your dream. Kids can do anything that they put their mind to do.
My project is a combination of several projects that all revolve around youth. Kids Kart is a 5x5x6' rolling cart filled with books, puzzles, crafts and school items for kids to do while hospitalized, to stay on top of their studies. Kids Karts started as a my Eagle project and has been growing since. 6 years, 24 Kids Karts, worldwide. I continue to make and distribute Kids Karts to pediatric hospital wards everywhere.

On the roof of a small hut, with a machete in my hand thousands of miles away from home, working in what felt like 150 degrees; I stood here never knowing that this trip to Tadzebichen, Mexico would change my life forever. The smell in the air brought memories of the forest after an afternoon rainstorm, while the blueness of sky took away any worries that I may have had. Fresh wind gently blew against my face.

The person in my life who played a big role in my successful education is my mother. My mother’s name is Fadumo Ahmed. She was born in Eastern Africa, specifically the city of Mogadishu . My mother was born very early on one of the peaceful Fridays. She was born in the morning when the birds were singing their sweet melodic tunes welcoming their king the sun. She got married to my father and started having kids.

Children Beyond Our Borders (CBOB) is a student nonprofit organization founded at the University of Florida whose mission is to alleviate the effects of poverty on children in developing countries by fulfilling their basic needs and investing in their education.
For the past three summers, the UF chapter of CBOB has traveled to Medellin, Colombia and worked with 23 orphan children.
