The Q'eros Video Project began in March 2007 when two filmmakers from the US collaborated with an activist from an indigenous community in the Peruvian Andes. Together, we began a video education project in the remote mountain community of Q'eros, introducing basic video production skills and exploring how the technology could be used to support the communities of Q'eros and their goal of sustainable development.

Mountain Fund Develops Microenterprise In Peru "Aynikuy", in Quechua means to help each other or to cooperate. Aynikuy is also the name of The Mountain Fund's new micro-finance program in Peru.
Why a micro-finance program in Peru?
The typical salary in Peru (if you can get a job) is about $150 per month. Families cannot live on so small an income so many families have started very small businesses as street vendors, small libraries, hardware shops, grocery shops, etc.

The Facts:
The world's mountains cover about one-fourth of the planet's land surface and are home to 10 percent of its population. They are a sanctuary for an extraordinary web of plant and animal life and a source of water for all of the world's major rivers.
Yet mountain people, the guardians of these valuable mountain resources, are among the world's poorest, hungriest and most marginalized populations.
