Youth are often depicted and criticized for negative concepts that may occur within the community. One bad apple shouldn’t spoil the bunch. Every child deserves to be praised on his or her accomplishments. So here, is your chance to be recognized on your accomplishments, talents, or community service or you can acknowledge youth of Forsyth County that have gone the extra mile to reach a successful future. The youth today are our future leaders of tomorrow. Let’s give credit, where credit is due!

Make Green Happen! is a recycling group that is going to
educate the community about recycling. We believe that us teenagers and children are the future, but we also believe that we need a stable future with a stable environment. The world is crumbling down to pieces, and we should do something about it. Every small action counts, and does make a difference. We will start recycling at our local schools, and cleaning up the community's parks and schools with eco-friendly equipment. The group will start out by putting recycling bins at the school's cafeteria, classrooms, and hallways.

George Jackson Academy, an all-boys middle school (grades 4 - 8) would like to reach out to the Bowery Mission, a homeless shelter and soup kitchen in lower Manhattan and bake cookies, cup cakes, brownies and cakes for the 450 men that they feed everyday.
We would like to take over the kitchen in the cafeteria when the school is closed for Spring Break and spend the time baking for the needy.

This group was created on September 11, 2004 by Carlton C.J. Jaushlin at the age of 16. We are a marching and dance drill team working to provide training, discipline, challenges and competition opportunities for under privilege youth in the Wichita area. Our goal is to provide direction to the youth in an effort to keep the out of and away from gangs and gang violence, drugs, and jail. Being apart of the drill team requires that the youth have a C average or above to stay on the team. they also must be team players.

Once a week myself and two other women from my church drive forty-five minutes into downtown Houston to Fletcher Baptist Mission Center. This BMC is located in the inner city where under-privileged people, mostly Hispanics, live. We spend approximately two hours there every Wednesday afternoon working and hanging out with pre-teen/young teen girls who live in the area. It is open to any female between the ages of 11-18, and we spend our time doing bible studies and eating snacks that we have prepared before-hand, as well as learning how to help others and give to the community.

The Bear Hug Project is a project that I came up with I came up with to donate teddy bears, as well as a load of other things, to children in childrens hospitals and in foster care in the state of Florida. I came up with the idea for this project because I want these children not to feel as if they are neglected. I want to make them feel as if they are special because they ARE in fact special in every way. I would like to expand to hospitals and centers in the other 49 states as well. Besides donating teddy bears I plan on doing different projects and fundraisers with the help of others.

Two issues will be addressed with starting a Kinross Recreation Center Youth Volunteer Council: youth with few productive activity options and a community that has many needs that are not being attended to. The town of Kinross and the surrounding areas are rural, have substantial poverty among families, and house four of Michigan’s prisons. The combination of these aspects makes the community less than appealing for many of its youth inhabitants. Some of the youth even have parents in the prisons. The Kinross Recreation is a place of hope for young children, teens, and adults.
