I am going to solve the problem of Type 1 Diabetes. There are 23.6 million people in the United States, or 8% of the population, who have diabetes. The total prevalence of diabetes increased 13.5% from 2005-2007. Only 24% of diabetes is undiagnosed, down from 30% in 2005 and from 50% ten years ago. Did you know that 1 out of 150 people is diagnosed with autism? 'Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person's lifetime. It is part of a group of disorders known as autism spectrum disorders (ASD).' - atusim speaks.
I am going to start a merchandise shop online, where one half of the money rasied will be going to autism speaks. When I have raised enough money from the other half, and from donations, I will start to plan a benefit concert if possible. Then all the money rasied will be directed to Autism Speaks to help find a cure.

This project began in the Advanced Environmental Science class at New Technology High School. After a year of learning about the environment, a group of us decided that our final project should be to do something that would educate the other students at our school and instill in them a sense of caring and personal responsibility in regards to the important Environmental Issues facing the world.
