I have decided to help children and adults learn the alternative, yet great ways to eat. I am a vegetarian and I feel that people should be given the opportunity to explore something that sustains their living so that they can choose for themselves and eat correctly. Vegetarianism is something i hold very close to me. I think people will have more food options in just exploring vegetarian dishes and ways of eating, children and adults alike will have a higher self esteem when eating good and will also love to eat food because not only is it good for you but it tastes great!

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), with more than 1.8 million members and supporters, is the largest animal rights organization in the world. PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry. We also work on a variety of other issues, including the cruel killing of beavers, birds and other "pests," and the abuse of backyard dogs.

The Pledge to Try Veg! Rally started in May 2006 as a bet between friends to see if those who ate meat could last even two days without consuming meat. We have decided to make this an annual event, and to focus more on other aspects to educate others. Vegetarianism is about more than just eating meat, it's a lifestyle choice concerning many hot issues, pollution (factory farms pollute water, air and land); conservation (forests are sometimes cut down to build farms, the land becomes exhausted from constant use.
