Application: Part I
- This is the basic information we need from you including the best email address and phone number at which to reach you.
- If you don’t see Part I when you begin your application, don’t worry, we already have your basic information. However, you will have the option of updating this information if it has changed recently.
Application: Project Profile
- Once you submit Part I, you will be taken to a project profile form. Note: this project profile will be public, but all other parts of your application will not be.
- Smart Driving Project: This is where you tell us about your smart driving campaign or activism idea. The idea should be fun and innovative but also feasible in your school or community. Remember, the goal is to spread awareness about smart driving and change teens’ driving habits!
- Fill out the profile with the information about the Smart Driving Project that you applying for. Enter as much information as you can and add some great photos if you have 'em!
- If you’ve already created a project profile for the project you’re applying for, you can skip this section. But please make sure you can locate the project profile that you’ve already created because you will need to include that URL in your application.
- If you don't know the URL for your project, you can find this by opening up a new tab and going to "my profile" at the top of the Do Something website. Go to the "View" tab, click on your project and its URL will appear at the top of the screen, like this:
Application: Part II
- Adult Contact Info: This project should be all yours and you should be the one to decide how to create your smart driving project, but just in case we need to speak with an adult, please include the name and phone number of an adult who can vouch for you (i.e. a parent guardian, teacher, coach, etc.)
- Smart Driving Essays: Complete 1 of the following 3 questions to show us your dedication to the cause! (250 work maximum).
- Speak Out: Your friend is driving recklessly and is making you nervous; what do you say to encourage smarter driving?
- Take Action: If you had a million dollars, how would you spend your money to curb teen driving crashes in the US?
- Innovate: If you could invent one thing to make cars safer for teens, what would it be?
- Next you’ll be asked to upload your budget. This will be a very brief document that lets us know how you will be spending the $500. For example: $200 on keychains, $200 on flyers, etc.
- Hit the “Upload” button to attach these documents.
- Click the boring legal boxes and submit!
NOTE: You can edit your application by logging into http://www.dosomething.org//, going to My Profile and clicking on “my grant applications.”
