Raffle

Have a Raffle!

Ingredients

  • Local businesses
  • Raffle tickets
  • An awesome giveaway!

Find some funds!

Contact local businesses. Will they donate money for you to buy raffle goodies? Will they donate something for the raffle? See if you can get gift certificates or other awesome treats!

Put together an awesome raffle gift!

With the money or donations you collected, pick one big gift or a basket of a few smaller things. If you can afford it, think ipod shuffle. Or even a gift certificate to a store is awesome. Depending on the gift, adjust the price of the raffle ticket. If the gift is worth $1,000,000, (obviously that won’t be the case, but…) then don’t make the raffle tickets a penny! If you get a $50 gift certificate, aim for a $2 dollar raffle. People might not want to spend $5 , but you could probably get more than $1.

Publicize!

Get the word out. Depending who the raffle is targeted for, make up appropriate flyers, posters, and even call a few people. Get friends to tell people. If it’s at your school, ask teachers to tell students. If you’re selling the raffle tickets at someplace more public, like your library or local business (to open up the raffle to more people), hang flyers in businesses and around town!

Important info to include on flyers:

  • What it is
  • Who the donations are going to
  • What the prize is
  • How much raffle tickets are
  • When tickets will be sold
  • When the winner will be picked

Sell those tickets!

Make it easy for people to buy them. Make sure you get their contact info to let them know if they won!
