Stylin' in Jammies for a Day

INGREDIENTS

At least a handful of friends

Tons of posters and flyers
Scrumptious Slogan: Dress to Donate!

A closet full of wacky outfits or pajamas

A whole lot of spirit!

Report to the Principal’s Office!

Creating an official “Pajama Day” at school may make school administrators angry, so get prior permission from the principal. Tell him/her the idea and explain that it is all for a good cause. Who can resist?

Spread the Word!

The more people there are in their pajamas/costumes/funky hats, the more fun that day will be. Make bright posters and flyers to hang up around school beforehand. Visit classrooms and explain the logistics. Find out if you can make an announcement over the PA system or post info about the event in your school newspaper. Include all of the important facts such as what, when, why, and how much.

Look for Furry Slippers, Silk Nightgowns, and Cotton Long Johns

Come in a little early the morning of Pajama Day in order to collect money from the students as they come in. Each of your friends can be in charge of an entrance to be effective but efficient.

But it doesn’t have to be all about the pj’s!

Students can find other ways to funk up their outfits. Ask your friends to dress up in costumes, to come in as look-a-likes, or to wear their fanciest gear.

Jammies’ Success

Don’t be late to first period! Gather the money made at all the entrances, and donate the sum to the cause of your choice. Congratulations on the jammies’ success!

Want more ideas on how to fundraise?

First you can...

Super Size It!

Hold a contest at the end of they day. Throughout the day, ask students to choose decide the best outfit by adding money to their favorite participants jar. The contestant with the most money will win a trophy but the cash will go to a good cause!

Take photos (candid and portraits) of the event. Offer to sell the prints to students who wanting lasting memories of this awesome event.
