How to: Make Mapping Easier

Type of guide:
how to

We love how easy Google Maps is, but BatchGeo is a free online tool that makes it way easier to map multiple locations at once. Instead of having to enter each location manually, BatchGeo can turn tons of addresses into one customized map.

To get started:

  1. Create a spreadsheet with the addresses you are mapping. Be sure to separate each part of the address into individual columns (street address, city, state, zip, location name).

  2. Copy your spreadsheet cells and paste them in the data field. BatchGeo will automatically reformat them.

  3. Hit "Map Now" to see your map and then "Save & Close" to share your map with others.

To add more info to each address:

  1. Create a spreadsheet with the addresses you are mapping. Be sure to separate each part of the address into individual columns (street address, city, state, zip, location name).
  2. Add additional columns with contact info (website, email, phone number) or a description.

  3. Copy your spreadsheet cells and paste them in the data field. BatchGeo will automatically reformat them.
  4. Hit "Validate & Set Options" and then "Advanced Options" to make sure BatchGeo is categorizing your columns correctly (for example, make sure that "URL" corresponds with the column with website URLs in your spreadsheet).

  5. Click "Make Google Map" to see your map and "Save & Close" to get a permanent link to your map and to share it.
