The Problem

Hello! First, I want to thank you for taking the time out to read this. I live in New Jersey, and here, like it is throughout the country, the teen drug use rate is on the rise. They have groups like NA and AA for adults, but there is nothing teen-specific. I personally know many teens who feel out of place when attending NA or AA. This is why I want to start a Teen-Anon group at our local high school. These children need help, but are too scared to get it. Having this sort of opportunity will greatly decrease the amount of avid drug users. Even if it helps just one person, that is one life you helped save. I am asking for a grant so I am able to purchase the literature for our Teen-Anon Group. If you are able to financially help in any way, it would be appreciated beyond belief. Thank you so much.

Plan of Action

First, I need to purchase the literature for the Teen-Anon group. This literature includes the step-by-step plan for sobriety, the 12 Steps in teen-friendly form, and various hotlines to call in case of emergency. After all of the literature is bought, I want to immediately start holding Teen-Anon groups at my local high school. I already have several teens who want to attend- the only problem is that we cannot financially afford it yet. Wherever our principal will allow us to do so, we will have meetings every week, every other day, or even daily. The teen drug-use is an insidious problem that needs to be stopped. Educating these teens with a safe environment not only helps the individual, but betters our future. Thank you so much for reading this.
