The Problem

I see bullying in my school and have been pushing the Dean and the Principal to start an anti-bullying initiative immediately. I have gotten in trouble several times for stepping in to help a student who has been harrassed. As a member in the Mentoring for the disabled students I especially see it against the vulnerable students and want to do something to stop it immediately. I want to start a program that would involve all the students.

Plan of Action

My plan is to elect several students from each grade and have them all be the "leads" if you will in helping to enroll more and more students and effectively be the watchdogs and leaders by example on how to treat others. Then when bullying is seen these students will be the laison's with school leaders to work with those students who need to learn how "NOT" to treat others and to confirm these students are learning the right way to treat others. Many students don't understand and by talking to them to show them how it must feel to walk in others shoes it changes perspective. I plan to continue to add and have the number of laisions and leaders grow to unlimited numbers. To build a kind place for those being bullied to turn to and to help work with those who are doing the bullying.
