My many experiences of volunteering with children has made me who I am today. Usually people say that working with children can be hard because of the patience and attention children ask for. Volunteering at Seol park recreation has been such an uplifting experience. Not only have I met some of the smartest kinds out there but the sweetest ones too, I have also taught myself many responsibilities. The after school program is made up of about twenty-five students from ages five to twelve. The importance of this program is to supply the students with many activities to prevent them from being out in the streets and to guide them with homework and class work. The many responsibilities that I have attained include being on time, having patience with the kids and having to be dedicated to my performance. My role to the students is to let them know that my main priority at the park is to benefit them. The after school program has enriched many of my students because of all the attention and dedication we provide to them. Volunteering at my local recreation park has opened doors to my future. I know that even though volunteering may not be such a big deal for some, I know its something very important to me because I know that I have contributed a lot of my time to the children and hopefully they got something out from it. I will continue volunteering at the park because I enjoy the feeling of helping others and because I have bonded with all my students.
