The Problem

I volunteer at different stables where I help handicapped people ride horses for therapy. I groom and tack the horses before the riders arrive. When they get there I help them mount their horse and then lead the horse. I help the kids ride and play games on the horses like basketball. It improves their self esteem, balance and is over all is therapeutic. I like working with the different kids and seeing them improve. Most of them have downsindrum, mental disabilities or are in wheelchairs. Alot of the classes I volunteer in are disabled kids the visit the stable from different schools. I have also done classes that just come and participate in group lessons. The therapy of horses has improved and touched many lives.
