When you're in a hospital room it gets pretty boring no matter how many games the volunteers bring in or how much control you have over the TV. Usually it's pretty boring and you find yourself wishing to go outside and play a sport or hang out with friends. After you're in the hospital for a few weeks or a few months you start to give up hope and feel as though you're losing connections with the world around you except for the hospital. That's what we're here for. We are hoping to start up an orginization that will be able to send volunteers or packages to children in the hospital-preferrably Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago- that have scrapbooking supplies and old sports and teen magazines and such. The children can then scrapbook what they hope to do after life in the hospital. Perhaps a page of basketball with a picture of Dwayne Wade cut out of SI made by someone hoping to go to a game or a page of shirts from fashion magazines made by a girl hoping to go shopping after their visit. We haven't started up yet and my friends and I are still young and a ton of help is needed to help us start up. We need help on a variety of things. Any age is fine. If you believe you have any skill that could help us in any way please contact us immediately at HospitalHelper@yahoo.com.
