On Febuary 24th 2007, Dumas, Arkansas was hit by two tornadoes. It whiped out over half of the town. Many people were injured but none were killed. I was in the Community Service Club at my high school, and I helped organize a base in the old hospital where people that did not have a home or damage was done to their home, could come and get personal items such as toilet paper, paper towels, clothes, soap, food, water, and any other necessities. We organized the items that were donated into different rooms where people could walk through with a grocery cart and gather the items they needed. If they were too elderly to help themselves, I would walk with them and pick the things out for them. If the people were not able to get to the hospital, I would ride down the streets and stop and ask people if they needed anything. Also, I helped people who lost their homes find their belongings that were not completely damaged.
