My name is Kenisha Eason. I'm a Junior at Fleetwood Area High School. I feel that it's important to be an active member is your school and in your community. I have just recently started a new club at my school called the "Social Injustice Club." Our first meeting was yesterday, and I must say that I was very happy and excited to see my peers excited about some of the issues that I feel are important. We have a lot of ideas and we can't wait to start volunteering and doing our part. You never know what kind of day someone is having. The littliest thing may cheer them up. This is why I joined Spirit Club. Just having a little card in your locker that has a few words of wisdom in it has the potential to turn your day around. I also feel that it's important to have your voice heard. That's why I'm an active member in Student Council. It's a great feeling knowing that I get to make desicions on what kind of dances we will have or what kind of fundraising we can do. It makes me feel important, like someone cares what I have to say. I think that reading is an excellent skill. So many people are lucky enough to know how to read. I'm glad that my parents read to me and let me read to them when I was younger. I see so many of my peers struggling with reading today, and as I said earlier, I'm a Junior in high school. I think that having good reading skills is essential for all grade levels and especially if you are like me and plan to furthur your education. Thank you for your time and I hope that you will give me the opportunity to do something great.
