Do you want to make a positve difference in a child's life? All it takes is one hour a week. At Pioneer Elementary we have Lunch Buddies, a mentoring program that brings a caring person into the life of a child. Lunch Buddies have lunch with a student once a week throughout the school year. You have lunch with the same child, so you develop a friendship and have the opportunity to have significant impact on that child. Together you can eat lunch, play games, and do fun projects together.
This program allows the child to have a special, healthy relationship with an adult friend, someone who will listen, talk and laugh with them. A positive relationship can greatly enhance a child's self-esteem, behavior and attitude. You will gain so much from this experience, including a relationship with a child that considers you a friend, and the satisfaction of knowing you made a positive difference in a child's life, and you will have fun!
