The Problem

For many years there has been a lot of controversy over whether or not people should be allowed to add chemicals, such as herbicides, pesticides, and even fertilizers to the soil. It's questioned whether or not these things are really helpful to the environment, although they have been proven to help some crops. My project is a science experiment that tested the affect fertilizers have on the earthworm population, the soil's natural airators. Three different types of fertilizer affects were compared, a slow release inorganic, a fast release inorganic, and an organic. Worms exposed to these environments were monitored, and results then gathered and conclusions drawn.
