Project pride is a project that is made to stop bullying. The project was primarily in elementary schools but also went to a high school. It started in the high school where we came up with an idea to have a “Bully contract”. The bully contract was simply a large poster that was made and given to each English teacher to have their students’ sign, by signing the poster the student is committing not to bully for this year and the years to come. The project was taken a step farther when we went to the Elementary school. At the elementary schools, a 35-minute assembly was preformed. The assembly included two games, a cheer, and a few skits that all spoke of how bullies are not good and hurt peoples feelings. All the skits, games and the cheer were invented by us and practiced many nights till we thought it was just right. There area total of fifteen elementary school in out town, and we preformed at nice. Principles of the school called and explained how their students in the school loved the assembly and do the cheer in the hallway. I believe the message got across to many of the students in that they did come up to us and explain stories of when they were bullied and how next time they will go tell a teacher. The student’s involvement and attention in our assembly also makes me believe it was affective.
