I honestly believe the saying that our youth are our future, as a child I loved the author Lurlene Mcdaniel; who would write about a variety of human issues and specific struggles that young people had to deal with. One character actually went into Africa to work with the peace core. After reading how much this experience touched this person and they were able to make a difference, I too wanted to go. I think if we introduce to children at a young age different issues they can learn about this world and what other kids have to deal with that they wouldn’t have thought about otherwise. Weren’t you very self absorbed as a teen/ young adult? I sure was and some never get expose to the fact that the world doesn’t revolve around us but there are others that have a battle to fight that we may never otherwise understand.
Why not have a group of children that go to these poverty stricken places, were they can become passionate about helping these children and there families.
I think this will be a great trickle down effect, when kids become passionate about things they let there parents know and what if the parent then wants to get involved or the kids schools, even if its just a little every little make some difference.
